Sixth Form Enrolment Process

Enrolment day – Thursday 20 August 2026

The most important principal when choosing A level subjects is this:

Right student on the right course

Therefore, whether you are a Shenley Brook End student (Internal student) or a student from a different school (External student), we want you to be on the right courses.

General Principals for enrolment for ALL students

  • You MUST have the grades for the course you want to study. That is THE most important part of choosing the correct subjects.
  • On Thursday 20 August – you will submit your enrolment application on-line. That does not guarantee you will be enrolled. You will know that your enrolment has been successful when you receive an automated enrolment message stating you have been enrolled. We normally have so many students applying in a year, we may be full, or certain subjects may be full. Please be patient and we will process your enrolment form as quickly as we can. External students will have to wait until Friday 21 August to hear if your enrolment has been successful.
  • Double check your subject choices – are they correct and do you have the correct grades. The system is set up so that you cannot enrol if your grades are not correct for that subject. By all means change your subjects when you submit your enrolment form so that the grades are correct.

NOTE: If you are on holiday or cannot make it into school for any reason, log-in online (remember to consider any time difference). You must remember that if there is a problem with your enrolment, it will be exceedingly difficult to reach us in school on enrolment day. You will have to arrange an MS Teams meeting or phone call with one of the Sixth Form Team. This may not be until the end of Thursday/Friday.

Shenley Brook End School Students

Thursday 20 August - 9.00am to 12.30pm (pick up GCSE results 9.00am to 10.00am)

Come into school via the main school entrance, collect your results, and then submit your enrolment form on-line whilst still in school. Your GCSE grades will already have been added to Applicaa.

In your results envelope you will have one of three slips:

  1. Well done - you have achieved the grades so please enrol now using Applicaa. Stay in school and do this. No need to stay in school after submitting your enrolment form IF you meet the entry grades for your chosen subjects. Once you submit your enrolment form, is must be checked by our team first. You will receive an e-mail confirming you have been enrolled if all is well.
  2. Well done on your grades, however, you have not met some entry grades. Come and have a chat to us in Phase 1 to see if we can help you (Mr Greenhalgh, Mrs Tillery and Mrs Brooker will be there). If we can help you, stay in school and enrol on-line using Applicaa.
  3. Well done on your results, however, you have not met our entry grades. Please use your back-up plan for your destination.

We will make computers available for you to log-in using your school log-in. We should have enough space to enrol most Shenley Brook End students if you enrol by 12.30pm and have the correct grades. If you enrol after 12.30 classes may be full. Enrol as quickly as you can after receiving your results.

External Students

On Thursday 20 August submit your enrolment form on-line from 10.00am and you can come into school between 12.30pm and 3.00pm if you need to. If you meet the grade entry requirements, log-in and submit your enrolment form. If all is well and have met the full entry requirements, you will not need to come into school.

Remember – you MUST have the correct entry grades for that subject choice. If you do not have the grades, you will NOT be able to enrol. We will not be able to fully enrol any external students until Friday 21 August as will have to wait until all students have submitted their enrolment forms. This is because we are always oversubscribed and will have to apply our admissions policy.

If in doubt, come into school from 12.30pm until 3.30pm.

  1. From 10.00am onwards - Log into Applicaa, click on enrol, add in your actual GCSE grades, and complete your A level subject choices. If all is well, you will need to wait until Friday morning to know if your enrolment has been successful.
  2. Add proof of your GCSE grades – a results slip is fine and attach this to your enrolment form. You MUST also include your UPN – this will be on your results slip. We will check that the grades you have entered are correct.
  3. If you need to add any other legal documentation attach this to Applicaa (e.g. leave to remain and study in the UK).
  4. If you cannot enrol as something is wrong, come in and speak to us from 12.30pm. Our Sixth Form Team will be there to help you with any questions you may have.
  5. If you do not have the grades for chosen subjects, please do not come into school as we will not be able to relax the entry requirements for any subjects. Choose different subjects that you do have the grades for IF you want to study them.
  6. Once we have received all the enrolment forms, the Sixth Form Team will look at the external enrolment students for each subject and start to enrol you from Friday 21 August applying our  Admissions policy.

Ideally, we aim to have all students fully enrolled by 12.30pm on Friday 21 August.

An automated e-mail will be sent to you about your enrolment. This will be whether your enrolment has been successful or not.
