Sixth Form
If you choose to study at our school, we know that you will experience a school that has excellent academic credentials and is a supportive and caring environment in which all students will flourish. In previous years, the range of destinations from top universities to excellent Apprenticeships was fantastic. We are only as good a school as our successful, well rounded, mature and happy past and present students.
We expect students to:
● Work hard
● Be kind
● Be respectful
And champion the Shenley Way.
Academic success is achieved through excellent teaching and learning and great, up-to-date facilities that allow students to study effectively. We have an independent sixth form library and separate study-booth areas with computing facilities with eighty-five computers. Sixth Form students also have their own café that is shared with staff, where students can work and socialise in an adult environment.
Pastoral care is a particular strength of Shenley Brook End school of which I am immensely proud. We have a tutor system with a form-time programme that nurtures and supports students and a Well Being and Support Hub that is available to offer help and guidance if needed.
The non-academic aspects of the curriculum are important too. We offer student enrichment choices to both complement and widen the educational experience on offer. We also offer non-exam subjects such as Arts Mark Gold and Gold Duke of Edinburgh that lead to professional, nationally recognised qualifications. Students can also support their colleagues as a member of the student cabinet or be part of the Sixth Form Leadership team or even be elected as one of the two Head Students.
We are a happy and high achieving place.
We look forward to seeing you!
Mr D Greenhalgh Director of Sixth Form
