Shenley Brook End School

Parental resources

Shenley Brook End school values the support we receive from our parent/carer community and understand raising teenagers can be a challenging role with hormone changes, peer pressure, heightened emotions, and mood swings.

Adolescents naturally gravitate towards certain behaviours, so it's good to remember:

  • Conflict is normal.
  • Give clear guidelines.
  • Listen to and respect their views.
  • Show an interest in what your teenager enjoys at home and at school.
  • Spend time together.
  • Make time for talking and listening.
  • Give them space.
  • Encourage them.

Below you can find some free resources, with advice on safeguarding, mental health, sleep problems, online safety, anxiety and more.

New topics are added regularly. We hope you find this resource useful.

Young Carers

Is your child a young carer? We are always looking for ways to support our students and community. We work with Young Carers MK to identify, offer support and mentoring to students with caring responsibilities at home.

If your child is a young carer, please let us know by completing this online form - Young Carer
