EAL
Ethnic Minority Achievement/English as an Additional Language
A key aim of the school is to provide equal opportunities for all students regardless of cultural, ethnic or religious background.
The English as an Additional Language (EAL) Team provides information and support for EAL students. We are able to offer support tailored to the individual needs of the student. This could include support in some lessons as well as one-to-one English tuition. The EAL team is committed to helping students to realise their potential across the curriculum. Students are also encouraged, where possible, to complete a GCSE in their first language.
We also run a lunchtime club to provide social support and help with homework and coursework.
Parents who wish to discuss their child’s English as an additional language needs are encouraged to contact Mrs Di Jeary at the school.
