GCSE results update 2020

I’m delighted to say that despite all of the challenges of the last two weeks our students have had lots to celebrate! Congratulations to all those who have been celebrating their achievements, the majority of whom we have been delighted to welcome into our 6th Form or to help with their destination of choice.

As you may know, we still have the results for a small number of courses to come in to school next week. At present the headlines are:

72% of students gained 9-4 grades in five or more subjects.

69% of students achieved 9-4 in five or more subjects including English/Maths

74% of students gained English/Maths at 4+

48% of students gained English/Maths at 5+

84% of students gained Maths at 4+

60% of students gained Maths at 5+

83% of students gained English at 4+

67% of students gained English at 5+

90% of students achieved at least one qualification at 9-4

14% of students gained at least one grade 9.

6   students gained over five grades 9s.

12 students gained nine qualifications at grades 7-9.

You will no doubt have me say that a young person’s qualities are as important as their qualifications. In recent months they have truly shown the importance of both! I’m sure you will join with me in congratulating all students and thanking the staff team for all they have done to make this possible. Thank you to all parents for the support and high quality partnership work that has made this good news possible!
